Life is not a RACE to win or loose, its a JOURNEY to enjoy.

  • Why did Adishankaracharya said " The world is not real and is an illution, at the same time it is not.......?

    when compared to Brahman."

    Also he says "whatever thing remains eternal is true, and whatever is non-eternal is untrue. Since the world is created and destroyed, it is not true"

    In contradiction he says "If the world were unreal or illusion, then with the liberation of the first living being, the world would have been annihilated. However, the world continues to exist even if a living being attains liberation, so the world is not completely untrue" !!!!

  • Why is Indian Rupee getting weaker and weaker?

    It was INR 50 against USD 1 by the start of this financial year and today it is INR 56.20+ against USD 1.

    The Indian students studying abroad will have a serious problem,....... the oil import cos are having a heavy problem........... the FUEL price would have a steep increase.................Finance minister asking the Exporters to use the EEFC bank account to be used in a better way to handle this crisis!!!

    Even the RBI interventions are not working to stop the downfall of Indian Rupee.

    What can be better solution?

    Morpheus: Neo, sooner or later you're going to realize just as I did that there's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.

  • Swami Vivekananda Birth Anniversary - What quote/teachings/poem of his attracted you the most?

    O'er hill and dale and mountain range,

    In temple, church, and mosque,

    In Vedas, Bible, Al Koran

    I had searched for Thee in vain.

    Like a child in the wildest forest lost

    I have cried and cried alone,

    "Where art Thou gone, my God, my love?"

    The echo answered, "gone."

    And days and nights and years then passed--

    A fire was in the brain;

    I knew not when day changed in night,

    The heart seemed rent in twain.

    I laid me down on Ganga's shore,

    Exposed to sun and rain;

    With burning tears I laid the dust

    And wailed with waters' roar.

    I called on all the holy names

    Of every clime and creed,

    "Show me the way, in mercy, ye

    Great ones who have reached the goal".

    Years then passed in bitter cry,

    Each moment seemed an age,

    Till one day midst my cries and groans

    Some one seemed calling me.

    A gentle soft and soothing voice

    That said "my son", "my son",

    That seemed to thrill in unison

    With all the chords of my soul.

    I stood on my feet and tried to find

    The place the voice came from;

    I searched and searched and turned to see

    Round me, before, behind.

    Again, again it seemed to speak--

    The voice divine to me.

    In rapture all my soul was hushed,

    Entranced, enthralled in bliss.

    A flash illumined all my soul;

    The heart of my heart opened wide.

    O joy, O bliss, what do I find!

    My love, my love, you are here,

    And you are here, my love, my all!

    And I was searching thee!

    From all eternity you were there

    Enthroned in majesty!

    From that day forth, where'er I roam,

    I feel Him standing by

    O'er hill and dale, high mount and vale,

    Far far away and high.

    The moon's soft light, the stars so bright,

    The glorious orb of day,

    He shines in them; His beauty--might--

    Reflected lights are they.

    The majestic morn, the melting eve,

    The boundless billowy sea,

    In nature's beauty, songs of birds,

    I see through them--it is He.

    When dire calamity seizes me,

    The heart seems weak and faint,

    All nature seems to crush me down,

    With laws that never bend.

    Meseems I hear Thee whispering sweet

    My love, "I am near", "I am near".

    My heart gets strong. With Thee, my love,

    A thousand deaths no fear.

    Thou speakest in the mother's lay

    That shuts the baby's eye;

    When innocent children laugh and play

    I see Thee standing by.

    When holy friendship shakes the hand,

    He stands between them too;

    He pours the nectar in mother's kiss

    And the baby's sweet "mama".

    Thou wert my God with prophets old;

    All creeds do come from Thee;

    The Vedas, Bible, and Koran bold

    Sing Thee in harmony.

    "Thou art", "Thou art" the Soul of souls

    In the rushing stream of life.

    "Om tat sat Om." Thou art my God.

    My love, I am thine, I am thine.

    Thanks.

  • Indian National Anthem, it has been 100 years today, how should we celebrate?

    Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore's 'Jana Gana Mana' was first performed on December 27, 1911, at the Calcutta session of the Indian National Congress which was then a national movement, not a political party. Decades later , once the near-impossible dream of Independence was eventually realized, the Constituent Assembly adopted the song as the national anthem on January 24, 1950.

  • Am I "The Physical" or "the Non Physical" ?

    Is there more to me than I see in the mirror? To see how there is more to me than an assembly of physical organs, we have first to define the Living and the Non-Living, not merely in the biological senses, but in a deeper, spiritual context.

    Whatever action I perform, although I will use various instruments, I am totally separate from them. For instance if I use a knife with my hands to chop some tomatoes, throughout the operation the knife makes no decision.

    If I lose concentration, and cut my fingers with the knife, neither my fingers nor the knife became emotionally disturbed - they were purely instruments.

    It is easy for me to see the knife as an instrument. But I'm so attached to these hands, that It is very difficult to dissociate myself from them, and realize that they too are only instruments, and really nothing more than this.

    I have had this pair of hands for as long as I have had this body, and I knowthey are the only one pair I will get. So not only personal attachment to my hands, but to the whole of my physical body, is something so deep, so intense, that I have totally forgotten my real identity.

    Ever since the moment when I came into the physical body, I have been labeled and put into compartments according to my physical classifications.

    It has been instilled into my conscious that 'you are a boy' or 'you are a girl', so that I grew up absolutely committed to this idea. And in fact if someone were to question this today, to question the identity of being a man or a woman, a person would probably consider it a great insult.

    BUT IS THAT WHAT I AM?

    An I be accurately labeled 'young' or 'old', 'man' or 'woman', 'fair' or 'dark'?

    Is there a real indication of who I am simply through this?

    BUT IS THAT WHAT I AM? BUT IS THAT WHAT I AM? BUT IS THAT WHAT I AM?

  • SELF - How to know thy self?

    Who is the Self

    I am the Sitter.........

    when i sit walking is dormant in me

    I am the walker------

    when i walk sitting is dormant in me...

    when i move .......

    stillness is dormant in me...

    When i sit, i sit as all those who sit.. just then..

    all modes of sitting reside in my sitting.

    When i walk, i walk as all those walking beings.

    all modes and styles of walking reside in me.

    When i see, i see as all those who see.

    everything seen resides in me.

    When i hear, i hear all who hear ---

    All hearing and every sound resides in me.

    I taste as all who eat, at that moment --

    i am the eater of all food, and am eaten also.

    In my sitting i am awake, i do not have to think

    of all those others residing in my sitting.

    When walking, i walk i am present in my walking.

    i do not think of the countless beings who are walking.... just then.

    Sleeping, i sleep as all sleepers, i am awake to myself.

    Conscious of myself, all who are awake are awake in me.

    I am the Self, residing in myself --- or all unknown

    I exist in all those who think they are the actors and doers.

    yet am not known by them ... all in me --- I in them all.

    Dormant in them, their minds asleep, they do not know me.

  • Are you a natural Mystic?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWRNyWHoNpk&feature...

    There's a natural mystic blowing through the air;

    if you listen carefully now you will hear.

    this could be the first trumpet, might as well be the last

    many more will have to suffer,

    many more will have to die - don't ask me why.

    Things are not the way they used to be,

    i won't tell no lie;

    one and all have to face reality now.

    'though i've tried to find the answer to all the questions they ask.

    'though i know it's impossible to go livin' through the past

    don't tell no lie.

    There's a natural mystic blowing through the air

    can't keep them down

    if you listen carefully now you will hear.
