I drank from the Calder cup. Hockey?

I think it's just always been a tradition since the beginning of time or at least before any of us were born even before LITY.

BQ: Yes I took a picture next to it in Toronto with my family but for some reason I was wearing a Capitals shirt my dad got me on a business trip in DC and no I did not touch it. I must of been 7 or 8 at the time.

It's hard to pinpoint the origins of many superstitions and the like. I'm not convinced that there is an actual "curse" or "jinx" when it comes to these things.

Speaking of the Calder Cup, I have seen it twice. I followed the Wolves for at least 5 years or so, starting sometime around 1999 I think. I was at the game when the Wolves won the Calder Cup back in 2002, which was awesome. I got to see the Calder Cup again in 2008 after the Wolves won in that year. One of the players brought it to a bar not far from where I live and I got to get a picture with it.

I give my congratulations to the Binghamton Senators for defeating the Houston Aeros 4 games to 2 to win the Calder Cup.

BQ: I have seen the Stanley Cup 3 times up close and in person. The most recent time I ever got to touch the Stanley Cup and get a picture with it was sometime after the Blackhawks won it. That was really cool.

BQ2: Somewhere around 65. It was hot here for a little while, but now that the cold front come through, it feels a lot better outside.

Well I don't think that anyone really knows how it started but I don't believe it because:

1994: rangers touch the prince of whales trophy and win the cup.

2000: devils touch the trophy and win the Stanley cup.

'97,'98,'02: Detroit touches trophy, wins cup all three years.

09: penguins touch the trophy and win the cup.

'95,'03: devils touch both times and win cup.

However:

04: flames touched trophy and lost in the finals.

07: senators touch trophy and lose in the finals.

'10: flyers touch trophy and lose the cup.

So i don't believe in this superstition at all, although I am highly superstitious...

Bq: unfortunately no, i was going to go to the parade when the pens won it in 09 but couldn't make it.. :(

BQ I saw and touched it at a Capitals game in the early '80s ( it was just visiting).
