If Manny/Floyd beat Floyd/Manny, will Manny/Floyd be exposed as an overrated?
If Floyd beat Manny, will Manny be exposed as an overrated or if Manny beat Floyd, will Floyd be exposed as an overrated?
It seems that with all the chaos and debates in many forums like here in Y!A, many fans always say that "Manny will gonna own Mayweather..." or "Floyd will gonna put Manny to shame..."
1. Is it possible that if the other beat the other, many will jump to conclude and will gonna say, "See, Manny/Floyd exposed that overrated fighter!"
2. If your man was beaten by the other, are you gonna lost your respect to him as a great boxer?
Ant thoughts? Thanks!

The simple answer is no..."real" boxing fans know that these two are the best, not just currently, but the best of this generation. There really is no shame in losing to the other, and most fans know that it's a toss up. Their past body of work already speak for themselves. They have both been tested, so losing to the other in no way diminishes their past accomplishments. When people are over rated, they get exposed pretty quickly, and if Pacquiao and or Mayweather were over rated, they would have been exposed years ago, but they have been in the game for far too long, and have done far too much to be considered "over rated" simply if they lost to the other best fighter of the generation. Losing to someone who is an all time great, doesn't make you overrated...it just makes the person who beat you even greater.

It's possible because many people these days don't really follow boxing. They just listen to what analysts say. Many people know more about FLoyd's antics and legal issues than they know about his boxing ability. Many of us know a lot about these fighters and we've been following boxing for a long time and have seen countless fights. Many of us have seen some fights over and over on dvds and such. The average person or sports fan has mediocre to poor boxing knowledge, and they're hear so much about both of these fighters on ESPN or something, but they really don't know boxing. Trust me; I know sports fans that haven't seen a boxing match since Tyson, and they think boxing hasn't been goos since Tyson. That's because boxing is more difficult to follow now because you need HBO or Showtime or PPV to see the best fights. Just like Lebron keeps being compared to Jordan, and if he's not Jordan then that means he sucks, People want to see boxers KO an opponent every fight because Tyson did that (and of course we know he didn't always win). The boxing fans will appreciate the contributions of Floyd and Manny, just like most boxing fans still appreciate Roy Jones even though he's done now. The true boxing fan knows that at this point Floyd or Manny really could just retire and their careers are pretty solid.

I won't lose any respect for either fighter regardless of the outcome. I'd give respect to both fighters just for getting in the ring with each other. Boxing needs it and it's fans want it. As for either fighter being "exposed" in this fight, I don't buy it (and by "expose" i suppose you mean to make a blueprint for other fighters to go on based on what either Pac or Floyd might have had success with against one or the other). I don't see anyone outside of Mayweather or Pacquiao exposing Mayweather or Pacquiao. Whatever one of the two fighters does against another doesn't translate well to other fighters in the division, in my opinion. The openings that would be taken advantage of in that fight wouldn't be capitalized on as easily by other fighters. I do however see more flaws in Pacquiao's game than i do Mayweather's. Pac has a tendency to lunge and leave himself open to counters but has been able to get away with it due to his hand speed. Mayweather is the best counter puncher in boxing. Argue that point if you want..It matters not to me. I just call it how i see it. With that being said, I see Mayweather picking Pacquiao apart, but anything can happen in boxing. Yeah, Pacquiao can knock Mayweather out but I don't see it happening as good defensively and as as sharp on the counter as Mayweather is. I could be wrong. This is just my opinion based on what ive seen. Trust me, I put money on these big fights. If i thought it would end up the other way around, i'd tell you, so i'll stick with my guts on this one. If it happens i've got Floyd by UD, but i won't be upset if he loses. May the better man win. I don't take boxing personally. I just take everything into consideration and make the best decision i can based on what i see.

I say NO.
The moment Floyd step in the ring with Manny, Floyd already gain my respect back to him. If Floyd lose to Manny, my respect to Floyd as one of the best fighter in this planet will still be there.
Both fighters are among the greats. If ever one lose, so be it .My respect for both will still be the same.

These two are the greatest fighter right now. Just by fighting is already a very big achievement for both. That's how big this mega fight is. Just by fighting will command respect for both. Those words that will follow next is nothing but displeasure, criticism and belittling although we can not deny the fact that both reaches the end of their pinnacles. Both were first ballot IHOF and ATG. That is the highest award that a fighter can achieved in their fighting career. Their fight if ever will not define their status, it is just a plus to us boxing fans.
Critics will always be critics same as haters but their hates will soon fade as time goes by and critics will soon be gone after they lost their appetite and craving.

No matter what, Floyd will always be a better pure boxer than Manny.

Their both considered as the top fighters of the sport so if either of them loses to the other it doesn't necessarily make them less great.
