Will my next load of laundry be OK if I accidentally poured bleach into the detergent receptacle of the washer?

HELP! I'm doing a load of white laundry, but I accidentally poured bleach into the detergent receptacle. I've never done this before, so I'd like to know if bleach will get onto the next load of laundry I do.

The easy way to be sure is to run the machine through it's normal cycle once with nothing in it.

HI ACB11180, this is Mike the Home Depot.

Don’t worry, the next load will be fine. Most modern washing machines fill the tub by running the water through the soap dispenser. This assures the soap is dissolved in the water before it reaches the cloths. Your bleach is long gone.

If you are unsure run the machine empty through a full cycle, this will fully rinse out the machine.

I hope this answers your question
