Heres my theory, sound right?
My theory is that if anyone ever discovers what the universe is for and why we are all here it will immediately disappear and be replaced by something even more bizzare and inexplicable.
My other theory is that this has already happened several times.
ok Steve, you win this one...
This seemed like the sort of baseless garbage lots of people post on here :) Wanted to see how seriously people would take it. (in book context, awesome of course).

Is that why quantum mechanics appeared 100 years ago?
The "clockwork" universe of 19th century materialism (which many people still believe in) was based on very simple ideas and perfectly good for building bridges and cars and cheap printing.
Then quantum mechanics appeared, which no one really understood - but which gave us computers and mobile phones and Yahoo Answers.

Oh goodness.
No. A theory is an idea tested with evidence found for it to be true, but is not proven. How has your theory been tested?
It's not a theory. It's a crappy, false notion.

Must not be true, since this is still the same universe you were in when you came up with that notion.
(What you have is a notion, not a theory. Look up the definition of the two words, please.)

Hmm sounds sort of alright, but who would replace it? :l
Another one could be that the universe is constantly changing, but we dont know because our memories will change with it :p

That is not your theory, liar, that is a hypothesis of Douglas Adams (PBUH).
