Considering opening a art painting shop-for the public to paint in. With coffee smoothies too-?

I have a very thorough background in fine art, commercial art, murals, public-community projects in the arts and teaching.

My question is;do you think this could "go" as a Biz? A storefront where rthe public can get painting & drawing lessons, paint their own tees, pillows, canvases and more and enjoy (is a different area but overlooking the art area) coffee, smoothies, waters, and pristine goodies from a local bakery that would sub-lent from me?

Very urban and relaxed. Blue jeans, paint and wine parties, birthdays etc.

Update:

Of course I've delt with focus groups in my area-also done demographics of where I would like to open shop. And young people aren't the only ones who would be clients so why would I only ask them? Good idea but did it! Also with elderly who so often want to take classes but don't want to take the college route etc.

This question is to get additional opinions on my idea-thanks so much!

Yes, I think so. But, "thinking" isn't enough. When I'm evaluating a business opportunity, I'll sometimes conduct a Focus Group. Basically, that's where you get a sample of people together (15-25) and do a face-to-face survey, exploring the opportunity. To get people to participate, I've had a lot of luck offering a good lunch (free, of course). Here's a good link about this.
