Dog acting odd, likes ears and beards?

No threat or anything, just odd behavior, Casey, a 5 year old poodle, has an obbsession with my father's beard, and ears. Casey will randomly jump up on his lap and make it a point to lick his ears and beard, now he doesnt do that with anyone else, even when i have a beard myself.

Obviously this isnt an issue, just a funny fact, so dog experts why does mr.poodle like beards and ears so much?

I can't really answer that but I can relate. My dog likes to sniff peoples eyes, yes eyes. He could care less about butts and shoes. Some how dogs know who the pack elders are and possibly the beard obsession is a sign of respect. When ever my mom comes around my dog elects her leader and could care less about me. He follows my dad around the house. He will sleep at their door when we visit. He likes my uncles but growls at them if they get too close to my dad. Maybe that's it: the dog knows that is your dad and just think that's cool. In keeping with the packs chain of command.

It could be grooming, a show of affection, or greeting.
