does anyone know if there is a list of the top classic movies from before the 70's ?
i want to watch some old classic black and white movies (with sound, no silent). like casablanca, its a wonderful life... those kinds. is there some kind of list of the best ones ever made? from like the 30s to the 60's.

You can scroll through this list, and select the ones you want based on the category and date.

The best I can suggest is the American Film Institute's 100 Years...100 Movies list. It's restricted to American films, and isn't perfect (no list is), but the overall choices are very good.
It includes pre-1930 and post-1969 movies, but there are plenty of films listed in between.
