I want to know how i can get better from a flu (cold) if i'm at home.

Its winter at the moment so its very cold outside.

I don't want to use medication that doctors recommend, i want to get better naturally.

So far i'm drinking tea with lemon and trying to keep warm.

Please help :(

To get rid of a cold or the flu, I eat one raw clove of garlic with food in the morning and in the evening. I also take extra vitamin C and zinc pills. I also avoid eating sugar because it lowers the immune system. My cold usually clears up in just a few days.

Flu is a virus, so there's nothing you can do, i.e. there is no medication you can take to fix it. If it was an infection on the other hand, medication would help.

You can ease your symptoms though. Get some Fisherman Friends or some Halls. They are great for clearing out your nose. Eat crackers or toast, the dryness of them will be great for your throat. Spicy foods will also blast out your nose. Drink lots of fluids and keep your energy up by keeping up your appetite.

    1) Take care of yourself. It is very important to keep you well hydrated and stop germs in your throat to multiply. If you don’t do that basically you re-infect yourself again and again and the Cold/Flu last longer as it should.

    2) Treat your symptoms and drink hot tea

Treat the airways, support your immune system with fresh and vitamin rich food and drink hot tea as much and often as you can. Hot tea in your mouth stops multiplying germs and keeps your body hydrated. Do it repeatedly, again, again and again.

    3) Monitor body temperature

With the flu comes fever, take a Panadol to prevent that the fever spikes up.

    4) Rest your body

Sleeping for hours is good. The more rest you body gets, the faster your body heals.

    5) Cold or Flu - Inexpensive home remedies

    Use a Steam Inhaler

to treat your air ways. A Steam Inhaler is good but if you don’t have one a simple bowl with boiled water covered with a towel to inhale vapor (steam) with aromatic oils like eucalyptus oil does a good job.

    Eat hot homemade chicken soup

with lots of vegetables in it. Be focused on “Stinky” veggies like leek, brussels sprouts and onions and for kids good looking stuff like carrots, peas and beans. Take small portions but very often during the day.

    Salty French fries

It works well in combination with lots of hot tea,

    Preferred herbal teas are

Lime flower tea, peppermint tea, ginger tea, green tea, chamomile tea

Take a hot bath and have a good sleep

Aroma therapists say that aromatic oils activate body functions because they get absorbed into the blood stream with effective healing results.

You are doing the right things, may want to add crackers or dry toast. Get lots of rest and sleep if you can. Also, try Gatorade it will replace the electrolytes you lost from vomiting

Just do what you've been doing so far and give it time. If you want to do it naturally you need to give your system a bit of time to work it out.

put a spoonful of honey instead of sugar, in your tea.

    it helps.
