What is the hidden identity of a traditional theist?

Is the traditional theist one who resorts to gross conciliation in matters of God to hide his/ her inability to define this phenomenon?

Update:

AEIOU: I think you are right when you think the theist is naive but has a productive attitude when the atheist's attitude is otherwise.

Compare a theist in relationship to God to a child in relationship to parent.

The child is aware that there is a bond between child and parent and it actively is part of it, but it is not fully aware of the nature of this relationship.

Likewise, a theist is aware that there is a bond between "I Am" and Universe and its consciousness is active part of it, but it is not fully aware of the nature of this relationship.

In the psychological sense, there is not true division between theist and atheist. The division is of social nature, like being on a higher cognitive level (superego). People do may have psychological traits which lean toward being more spacially or more socially oriented...

The problem with atheism is that, through its own hollowness, it bashes what the theist finds irrational to define in atheist terms...

    Edit:

The theist is not naive. The theist is just closer to Mother Nature. For example, you can not say that a North American Indian is naive compared to someone today. They were as wise as we are today. We are more complex, but more alienated from the Source.
