Haha yes, I love that kind of stuff. Assuming of course that its well written and makes sense in context. But I love to read something like that's really intense, and even though you don't want to keep reading you just HAVE to to satisfy your sick curiosity.

Your book would certainly draw attention to a specific crowd, as well as repel another.

The key thing to think about in writing a book is details, details, and well a good plot ( with lots of details).

For me, it depends on the context of your torture scenes. If they have literary or historical significance, I might like it. However, if you are writing about such scenes purely for the fun of it, without any regard for literary impact, then I'm sorry to say that it belongs to the trash can, just like the Twilight series. Refer to works by Edgar Allan Poe for exemplary scenes of torture.
