I had Kaspersky but it recently expired..i downloaded it last year. Now I want to renew it but it says I have to buy it. But I don't want to buy any software, is it not possible to download one for free which is not a trial version?

Uh Use Avast or AVG. IF you choose AVG don't get the trial because you won't be able to download the free one anymore.

AVG has a free version. Its fairky basic, but never let me down.
they hide the link to the free version, so youll have to snoop around the site a little to get to it.
i also use then for my android phone.

Avira, avast, AVG, take your pick. They're fairly basic, but it should be enough for normal usage. I'd personally recommend AVG, it's slightly more user-friendly than the other two. (And the database is updated quicker)
