if i were to connect a vacuum into a an enxtension that leads out to six 6 different places...?

will it lose suction?

    yes, not only will longer hose lengths cause a loss of suction due to friction and head-loss, but if you are taking one opening and converting it to 6 different openings, it is not so much the number of openings as it is the area of the openings.

    This means that if you take one large vacuum hose and convert it into 6 small ones, theoretically (not including my first point of the added hose length) the suction would be the same. If however you are taking one hose of 2" diameter, and converting it into 6 hoses with each 2" diameter, then yes there will be an apparent loss of suction because of the increased total area.

    Commercial versions are freely available in the UK and I suspect the USA, Google BEAM vacuum cleaners.
