If there's a god, how come he...?

If there's a god, how come he doesn't do anything?

(I'm just keeping it simple.)

Update:

@Sirius, sorry about that; I just woke up.

It's more fun to cause a chain reaction of events leading to a terrorist plot being foiled because some almost entirely unrelated person took one second longer to get out of the shower.

Basically, God works so subtly when he does work, that it's hard to tell.

  • Because there isn't a God. All Gods rely on humans to do all of their biddings. They need humans to write their holy books and speak on their behalf ALL the time, for the simple reason they don't exist.

The reason most do not understand is because their weak (and at times we all are). You've allowed yourself to be swayed by the actions of others instead of rather discovering the truth for yourself. It must be looked at unbiased because you at least owe that to yourself and to a creator if there is one, and he had the will to give you a life. If the soul goes on, it must go somewhere, and heaven and hell is a very realistic possibility if there is a G*d, for now in the new age we do know that the earth has a molten core.

I used to consider myself an atheist, but in all reality I was just seeking the truth, and I still am. What most don't understand because they are already biased and somewhat prideful in what they already believe, whether it be because of the horrendous acts of those who call themselves Christians (like the Marlboro Baptist Church), or looking towards history in the deaths of so many due to religion, it is not about religion, its about the truth.

Men are flawed, without a doubt, but just as amazing and complex in the same. We are not just an advanced stage of an animal for how do you explain electricity and our replication of our own brains core function? We must deal daily with the struggle of good versus evil, right versus wrong, and the hardest question for me was why was there so much evil and death and destruction if there is an overseer? It is a matter of freewill and just as you are capable to murder, you able to heal, to caress, to build, to create.

What many do not understand is that Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, all of the other major religions are Old World religions. They were the separations of people in the thousands of years before Christ. But what was and when was the true mark of the new era? It was the birth of Christ, at the year 0, where to this day we continue to give daily reverence and mark our years from 2011 years later. Christianity was the birth of the ultimate, universal religion with the death of Christ, whose blood tore down the vale. Because of the failure of the Old World religions, for the first time all men were able to have direct contact with G*d and to this day we are allowed that privilege. To wonder where the souls of those before the birth of Christ is a question that continues to stump me, but it is one that I won't give up on.

The death of the uncountable due to religion is absolutely ridiculous and so I beg you to at least have the respect for yourself to look at the root so you don't miss the truth out of incompetence. The new era of life, Christianity (though don't put so much credit on purely the title), the birth of Christ, was the beginning of the perfect religion, a direct relationship with the creator of the universe. Why was there a need for a Roman Catholic Church that focuses on rituals and idols (two of G*d's most hated pet peeves)? It only makes sense that it is an imitation church turning souls away from the truth for centuries upon centuries. Now don't get me wrong. There are many good Catholic people, but I just beg that you do not get sucked into the labels of religions, but rather in the pursuit for the truth.

Our greatest asset, as well as our hindrance is our intellect. It is that same intellect though, with a hint of pride, that forces us to assume that the truth must be complex. The most truthful entities of life though are the most simple, black and white. Love, hate, life, death, and G*d. We've received an undeserved inheritance, just pray, ask, talk, and see. I promise. What do you got to lose

He has and does, unfortunately he gave humans free will - It may be the only idea that was not so good, but he refuses to take it back.

He does. Also keeping it simple.

  • because he is imaginary. A massive monster that was created by the brilliant mind of mankind. We are so smart we even fooled ourselves to believe in our lies.

Just think of him as air, but without the evidence of air.
