How do you feel about political compromise?

I also cringe at that phrase. It should mean a give and take on a situation such that the greater good is served. Unfortunately, what I think I have seen is that it means that both parties hold extremist views, procrastinate, and then will appear to give in some to get something done. And it is NOT always the right thing that gets done. When the democrats or republicans get their way, many of us lose. When they compromise, we all lose, because they fail to have the guts to do the right thing, and they resort to doing the minimal thing and just hope to look good. I much more appreciate the term political suicide. Besides the much needed term-limits for Congress, it may be our only other hope.

It depends on the issue that the compromise is being made on. There should be no compromise on the debt ceiling. The Washington elite are spending addicts on our money, it is time to cut them off. On August 2 they should begin the lesson of trying to live without all the money they want, a lesson almost every American has had to learn in the last 3 years.

The idea of compromise sounds great, but when one side has it completely wrong it makes me cringe also. IT would be helpful if we had politicians we trusted in the first place. Kind of hard to believe who is doing what is right, and who is just worried about their party.

President Obama is doing what he thinks is terrific for our united states, or attempting to attain this. He can't do something with out the whimpering fool who's preserving him up. i assume he has to wipe his tears away each now and returned. I choose he could wallop that little excuse for a guy. Why everyone can't see the rationalization for all it is previous me. The Republicans desire extra advantageous tax exemptions for the prosperous and not something for the middle classification. Reagan replaced into meant to have been so great, and he raised the debt ceiling extra cases than any President we've had in workplace as nicely as taxes. Rob the detrimental and supply to the prosperous...that's what the Republicans do, and it has constantly been that way.

Like someone said..All things in moderation, including moderation. Honest debate and compromise is fine but when the dems start their rant about 'killing old folks and children'..how in the H are you supposed to have a debate?

I think conservatives should start every budget debate with a long list of how much of our tax money is pissed away by our federal government on things MOST Americans oppose..like coddling illegal aliens! No need to hype..the truth is ugly enough by itself.

Compromise also sometimes mean choking on ones integrity. I prefer integrity and truth rather than making compromises that mean Americans suffer.

Most people confuse compromise for "satisficing."

Compromise is when everyone wins something, not when everyone loses everything just for the sake of an agreement.

Compromising is the only way to get things done, in business or anywhere else.

Liberals have adopted the term, to them it means that their opponent has to make all of the concessions to get any kind of a deal.

Deal making on the level of the debt ceiling is preposterous, You must stop

over spending. You must not throw away more than you take in, However

Progressives and Democrats can't grasp this fact.

I figure it is a polite way of telling the rest of America to bend over and grab their ankles !
