Got shafted with interest rate on a semi-new motorcycle and horrible experience at Kawasaki in general .?
Hi everyone .
I got a new motorcycle from a Kawazaki dealer I apply for the credit and I got approved for 15k , but I wanted to start small so I wanted a 250r ninja , they didn't have any in stock so I was put on a call list .
Later I got a call from the salesman telling me that one came in with low mileage (500 miles) and it was mine if I wanted it , excited I said yes and I headed over to the dealer , the next day (Sunday) the salesman told me that he was just waiting for the mechanic to come in to change the oil so I could take it , that the paperwork was ready and I qualified for 11% APR , I signed everything and then he tells me that the mechanic didn't make it so to come back the next day , of course I found out that service is closed on Sunday and he lied to me but no big deal , I explained to him that my dad had brought me in to take it away and I didn't have anyone to to bring me the next day , so he promised me that they would deliver it for free at my house the next day .
The next day came and went so I called Tuesday , he said that something had happened but for sure tuesday it would be delivered , I called later like at 3 to comfirm and he indeed confirmed that it was a go and that they were getting the bike ready for transport , I started driving home at 5 and I call to ask him for their eta and said that they could not deliver it anymore because one guy had to go home , pissed I drove there and drove it home myself .
But the problems and lies didn't end there , later I got a letter from Kawasaki telling me my APR was 22.99 % not 9.9 I called Kawasaki HSBC credit to ask and they said that that's what they got , I called the dealer and they said sometimes it takes time for the papers to go trough , I had been calling back for a week and now the finance manager confessed to me that because the bike had a previous owner and it had 500 miles it was considered not new therefore I got 22.99% and there is nothing that he can do now .
I am extremely upset and helpless , what can I do ?
Thanks in advance/
the contract says 9.9 % , so is this in essence breach of contract?
ok so I spoke to them and they want to see me in this afternoon , wish me luck !
extra details:spoked to HSBC the bank that does kawa credit and they are not happy , they have put the loan on dispute so now I have something to stand on this afternoon when I speak to them.

You can kick yourself in the rear end for not verifying the details before you took delivery of the bike. Regardless of the crap the dealer is trying to pull on you it is 100% YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make sure you are signing and getting the terms of the contract that you agreed to.
The interest rate you were quoted was for a new bike. Did you even bother to ask what the new interest rate would be if you changed your mind and bought a used bike instead? Did you read the contract you signed? If the contract you signed says 9.9% interest then you need to demand they change the financing. If the dealer screwed up and either gave you the wrong contract or lied to you about the actual interest rate for the used bike then you should take the bike back, cancel the contract and walk away. Find another bike at another dealer and next time pay attention to the paperwork.

If you signed the contract papers which stated 9.9%, that is what they have to give you. Sounds like the salesman has made a very big mistake which is not your problem. I would get legal advice. I would also try complaining to the FSA. Can you cancel and get a loan through the bank? Try and find out who the senior chairperson is through customerservices@kawasaki.co.uk. Write to them.. Create as much stink as you can.

if i was you id tell em shuff the bike up ur ***, unless you allready paid for a deposit for the bike, sighned the paperwork .although did you sign the V-5 log book or receipt or the titlte. at the end of the day it your choice to except the vehicle or not. how much is the bike ,plus add on the loan interest of 22.9%
