with todays price increase in electricty bills?

What would use more power in 24hr period:

1) A crt 51 cm television on for about 7-8hrs a night?

2) A oscillating 30cm freestanding fan running on low speed for 24hrs a day?

3) Someone leaving there desktop computer running all night?

I'm just wondering if someone can tell in ranking mode or so-fourth which one would use the most powe?

The TV would probably be lowest. It might be 150 watts. 8 hours would be something like 1.2 KWh.

You can replace the TV with a comparable 22 or 26" set, for 50 to 75 watts consumption.

The fan might be 50 to 75 W. That might be similar to the existing TV, being ran all day though.

A modern desktop computer might draw 200 to 400W. At, say 300W, it would be 2.4 KWh overight.

That all said, if you have Time Of Use billing, cost might change.

Fan/computer/TV although there won't be a great deal between the computer and the TV. Time to get some solar panels on the roof.
