How do I stop dry rot from progressing any further.?

I have an old bookcase which has been in my family a long time. it was in a damp basement and bottom was rotted. I cut off the rotten part and redid it, and it's been in dry warm place ever since. Recently I noticed that there was some dry rot progressing from a small area I had left on before. How do I stop it from going any further.

Go to Home Depot and buy the "wood hardener" in the paint section. This is a fiberglass epoxy resin that is highly liquid and you brush it on. Let it set and apply again. Keep allowing the previous coats to harden and apply up to as many coats as necessary to seal up the rot. I used it on a main support bean that had a huge termite infestation. The termites are entombed and the beam is stronger than ever as well as waterproof. Great stuff. Everyone should keep a can in their garage!

    Good Luck
