agree or disagree: wrestling isn't as "fake" as people make it out to be?
when i ask somebody do they watch wrestling, they say its fake. i agree that some of it is "fake", but some of the bumps and hits that they take; actually hurt. how can you fake falling off a ladder? people just assume its fake, even people who watch wwe, or any other kind of promotion.
thanks for all the stars guys!

Montreal screwjob wasnt fake, stone cold breaking his neck against owen hart at summerslam wasnt fake, owen hart dying at over the edge wasnt fake, darren droz getting paralyzed from the neck down from a botched powerbomb from d'lo brown wasnt fake. Chris benoit suffered concussion in the 4 way tlc match, jeff hardy suffered concussion against rvd in their hardcore match. Bret hart had to end his career from goldberg's kick to the head. i could list more but cant be bothered.

It`s SCRIPTED but the events(mostly)are not fake.
You sometimes might see a superstar adjusting his place on the mat for the other to dive, also sometimes some hits don`t combine, but these are slight parts, they don`t affect the outcome.
When you see a guy like Jeff or Cara going through a ladder, well I tell you the ladder isn`t cardboard, you might see that some superstars don`t do much effort in the ring during a match,I think that`s so they can take major hits. And for the people who say it`s fake, you see soap operas and action movies on tv and you react with them, what about people actually doing in it in front of you!!
It might not be 100% real, but if it`s that fake it won`t get that amount of fans worldwide.

It's SCRIPTED. They really slam each other and they really get hurt some times. They know the outcomes of matches, they have scripted lines. Look, next time someone says that to you ask them this, "Do you watch movies or TV shows?" They will say yes or they are lying. Than you say, "They're FAKE. What's the difference?" They will probably say that wrestling pretends to be real. In that case, point out to them that wrestlers routinely break character in interviews and discuss they're "role" on TV and they will admit it's a show just as any other actor would.

Punches are faked. Chair/weapon shots are fake. If some one were to hit you with a steel chair, you would have a concussion and be knocked out. Story lines are scripted. Some injuries are fake to create more drama. Other injuries are fake like sin Cara's was because he was suspended and they needed a way to get him off the show. Nobody is Perfect however and real injuries happen. The match is choreographed but the slams do hurt. Like jr said how do you learn to fall off a 20ft ladder ? You dont. The mat is soft because if someone was really slammed hard, they would be unconscience. Look up rampage jackson powerbomb. Thats what happens when someone is powerbombed. Nevertheless wwe is both real and fake, but it sure is entertaining.

Agree. Of course it's like any other TV show (with a lot for fight scenes), so it's all scripted. But there is a real amount of risk in it of course. Owen hart died on ppv just as Steve Irwin died filming his show. And all those hits they took on sunday, of course they'd hurt (even if you knew they're coming). And like Charlie Sheen/Two and a Half Men, a lot of the story and promos in the ring show or on stage show a part of the real life actor (in Sheen's case being a total ***). They often take real life situations (hardy edge and lita, cm punk's shoot etc) and showcase them on screen. That added realism to the show makes it so much more amazing. In the end it really is a bunch of guys doing what they love, justtrying to get to the top. Maybe not by winning the matches (in real life), but it's all the same, you understand? So, yeah there is a certain amount of realism in it all, despite being scripted.

Agree! The term should be scripted, not fake! After all they put themselves through, the word 'fake' is really insulting!

This is exactly what I've been arguing about with others. Everything in the WWE may be scripted, but the wrestling is REAL. This also why the REAL wrestlers are warning us not to do it ourselves.

Powerbombs are not fake, RKO IS NOT FAKE, STUNNERS ARE NOT FAKE AND SO ON. People who say its fake are just hypocrites and don't watch wrestling
