What age is safe for a baby to sleep on their tummy? 10 points!?

Hey to be honest there isn't really, your baby will get there its self baby's learn fast and progress fast, i had the same fear when my child was born but i carried on letting my child sleep the way she did and one day she just turned over onto her front by herself whilst sleeping, but not wanting to scare you here but there are such things as sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) that are caused by infants sleeping on there tummies and suffocating themselves. your best bet is to keep putting your baby to sleep on her back anyway until it is at least 1 year old. it's the safest position. also babies are only usually at risk of SIDS untill there about 12 moths of age. but your best off gettingin touch with a professional or consulting a GP, if your still not sure, i do understand you'd probably doubt some information given to you..

I think 3 months is too young. Once the baby can roll from his back to his tummy, then he will likely roll like that asleep if he finds that position comfortable. By that point you can't really fight it unless you want to stay up all night rolling him back onto his back. Until then its best to lay him on his back unless otherwise directed by a doctor.

Once the baby can roll over by themselves, they can roll to their tummy to sleep if they want. You should still lay them down on their back for a couple more months until they are really mobile.

My 3 1/2 month old LOVES to sleep on her side and tummy. I only let her do it if im awake and next to her. When I am asleep i make sue she is on her back. They say SIDS can occur till 12 mos but the *Danger Zone* is at least 6 months. I think at 6 mos its a little safer. But let him/her do it as long as your up! =) good luck!

SO my rule of thumb as always been they are old enough to sleep on their tummy when they can role over from their back to their belly. This is because their is really no stopping them at that point. They do not recommend sleeping on the tummy do to sids but like i said once they can role u cant stop them. So if they wanna sleep on their belly...their gonna sleep on their belly : )

When the baby has enough self control to be able to lift their head. The reason you don't put an infant on their tummy is because they don't have the strength to lift their head from the bed so they could suffocate. Once your baby can successfully lift their head and get up, it's alright.
