Have you ever used "Iodasorb"?
I use it now and part of it formed such a tight seal with my wound that it won't even soak off. I've tried gently rubbing, but that hurts. Is it safe to leave it there until it finally comes off at some other time?

Iodosorb is an excellent product that is a Brownish-rust color (Cadexomer Iodine) that absorbs moisture from the wound and then it turns into a whitish, soft clay-like substance that almost always is easily removed as it just flakes off the wound. I have never had any problem getting it out of the wound and so I have a few questions? How long has it been on as usually, we change this dressing every other to every third day and cover it with a non-adherent dressing? Are you sure it is the Iodosorb you are seeing and not something coming from the wound like slough (slimy, yellowish or whitish material made of fibrin or dried wound drainage)? When it does come out, is the wound underneath have lots of bright, red tissue underneath that bleeds real easily as this is a sign that the Iodosorb is working. In any event, if you keep the air away from the Iodosorb and the wound , it should come off easily and your wound should heal just fine.
