download tune up utilities 2011 from a torrent or in the main site.
then look for serial key here.

after you install the application.
click the "Start-1 Click Maintenance" in the application.
and it will scan everything that will make your computer slow.
you need to do this, because there are files that you can't see (usually hidden) that slows your computer down and these files are the files you doesn't need, like temporary files and such.
or you can defrag your disk.
go to start menu then type "Disk Defragmenter" and defrag your C drive.

If it was sudden, it wont be hardware, or it wouldnt work at all. Your problem is most certainly a virus or worm. Boot into safe mode ( F8 on start up ) navigate to c:/ windows> prefetch, delete everything in the prefetch folder. Run a full antivirus scan, and schedule a scan for post boot, or on next boot, your pc should be fine after that.

If it happened that quickly, then it is most likely a virus or a worm. I would go download ccleaner and malwarebytes. They work for when they run, but I've never had a virus on my new laptop.

Malware will do that. Could be heat.Try letting it cool down for an hour.
Otherwise try these maintenance steps
Tune-Up and Clean-Up
First Ccleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/
Then Malwarebytes http://malwarebytes.org/
