Your computer's IP address is assigned by your router. It's not a part of your computer and can change every time you restart your computer or wake it up from sleep. If you open up a command prompt (cmd.exe) and type in "ipconfig", you can see the status of all your network connections, including your current IP address.

Please make sure you have a static IP address or a dynamic IP address : this is huge factor ,
the best way to find your IP address if your not a tech person is to simple go to this website : www.whatismyipaddress.com
on your left hand corner it should be highlighted in blue BOLD your ip address :
if you want to get fancy and show off you can hit your start manu > then you should see the title RUN
in the run space type : CMD which is a command prompt this should take you a command prompt black screen : the the black screen type as follows : ipconfig : this would display your IP address :
but one question your wireless printer should make you go through this tedious process : if your a bit confused please try this
in your printer manu please find your wireless config manu , here all you have to do is type the wireless name as it might appear on your account and the password and the printer to do the rest .

hold the windows key and press R, then type CMD, then type ipconfig, the IPv4 is your ip address
someone types faster than me...oh and Sara's website will only tell you your external IP or the IP that would point to your router from the outside world. It sounds like you need your internal IP so she would be wrong

win key + r
in the dialog box that comes up, type cmd
then type 'ipconfig'
Sarah- that tells you your public ip which is useless when trying to connect to a printer behind your firewall/router
