Is it legal to buy a pistol from a private seller under 21 in az?
I have been told this so I am curious as to the law. Can a private seller sell me a pistol legally if I am under 21? I have a friend wanting to sell and if it is legal and someone could prove it I will buy it from him. Thank you and pleas noone comment on how it is wrong to own guns or anything like that.

It is most likely legal (assuming you're at least 18), according to Title 13, Chapter 31 of the Arizona Revised Statutes. According to state law, a person must be 18 years of age to purchase any non-NFA firearm from any source; however, there is a federal age limit of 21 years on handgun purchases from federal firearms licensees. So if your friend is an FFL then you can't do it. But if he is purely private, and he isn't selling you a machine gun, sawed off shotgun, or heavily modified gun (see second link) then you're okay.

You can buy a handgun from a private seller in AZ at 18. I've asked the police and done it myself back when I was 18.
