What about homosexuality bothers you so much?

Seriously, I want the REASON and LOGIC behind it.

Rules-

1. Don't quote scripture- I want your thoughts.

2. No 'because it's not natural'... Because neither is laser eye surgery or clothes, they aren't 'natural' as well.

3. Don't bother with 'well the dictionary says...' I am well aware of the definition of marriage.

4. You can use scientific reasons, but these must come from an UNBIASED source (include link).

Now that you know the rules, please let me know what you think.

Absolutely nothing about homosexuality bothers me. Nothing at all. Gay marriage is the same to me as heterosexual marriage. Luckily I live in CT where it's legal.

A good friend of mine and his husband adopted their foster daughter last year.

Two lesbian couples I'm friends with are engaged, another married. Their marriages are just as legal and valid as my own, although all of their ex-husbands have an issue with it ;-). Their kids think it's cool.

Love is love. God is love. Jesus promoted love, tolerance, forgiveness. He spent his time with thieves, murderers, tax collectors, and all sorts of criminals. He spent his time with terminally ill and terminally contagiously sick people. He spent his time with prostitutes and slaves. He spent time with them just as easily as he was able to speak eloquently with the educated Pharisees and Rabbis. Jesus loved them all. So why would Jesus now promote that we be intolerant and hateful toward homosexuals or pansexuals or anyone other than heterosexual?

The reason man and woman are together is to fill the earth. So if people are homosexual this will not be done. It is not the way people are born and people can change. It is just not the way it is supposed to be. For anyone that really does want to please God it is black and white. There is no room for anything but change. I understand there are reasons why people turn to same sex relationships. Usually, there have been some tramatic events in there lives. There is help out there for this. I, myself, have been a victim of traumatic things. I highly recommend a therapist who uses EMDR sessions, if this is the case. I had a therapist who worked with me on post traumatic stress and in 2 sessions I am a completely different person. I hope you will reason on these statements. I do not know what your religious convictions are, but please look into the bible and find out for yourself the facts.

I have no problems with it. God loves everyone. and if he made them gay then it can't be considered a sin can it be? Jen, where in the bible does it say God hates anything? He is a God of love. He doesn't even hate satan. he weeps for him every day. Wait i take it back, the one thing God does hate is sin. And since no where in the bible does it say homosexuality is a sin, then he does not hate it. He certainly does not hate homosexuals. He made them for who they are.

Let me quote a bit of scripture to you Romans 2:1-3.

"Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. And we know that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who practice such things. But do you suppose this, O man, when you pass judgment on those who practice such things and do the same yourself, that you will escape the judgment of God?"

I am a real fan of homosexuality. I think it is just terrific.

It's interesting that we have come to an age where 14 year olds seem far more rational than adults do most of the time.

Because a book written by goat herders in the bronze age said it was bad.

Well your terms aren't very fair.

I believe the Bible, so when I don't know what to think of something I go to the Bible to find answers.

And yes it is unnatural but it's not just that its unnatural it's that it is a sin.

And marriage was meant to be between a man a woman. Just like people were always meant to have sexual relations with people NOT animals!

And quite frankly it's just gross!

    Hope that helps!

i don't support nor go against homosexuality rights like marriages.

But when I see two gay guys kissing, yes it does bother me. It makes me feel disgusted, like watching a fat guy without a shirt on.

But since I know this is just my personal feelings, that's why i don't go against their rights. But yes i do get annoyed whenever they use public display of affection in my field of vision.

The bit that bothers me is that I can't get married.

    I'm not bothered at all.

Short of it being made compulsory.

Well, some bronze age gods said the gays were immoral and deserved to be killed. If you believe in such gods, you have to either admit they were wrong about that, or pretend they were right.
