The Day The Earth Stood Still - To me, still the definitive sci-fi film

    Forbidden Planet

Planeta Bur - From a Soviet Union perspective, but still really good sci-fi. "First Spaceship on Venus" doesn't do the original justice...

Gojira - The original Japanese version, if you want to consider that sci-fi...

    Them! - Another monster/sci-fi..

    The Thing...

Earth vs The Flying Saucers - Just fun w/ Ray Harryhausen effects

This Island Earth - Dam MST3K! lol...

Devil Girl From Mars - ya gotta love it!

The Day The Earth Caught Fire

Anyway, those are a few of my favorites, hope that helps...

The War of the Worlds (1953)

    Them! (1954)

    The deadly mantis (1957)

I recall another film that had the phrase "from Planet X" in its title.
