SBS Kpop star or regular kpop auditions? Which is easier/better?

Question

I REALLY want to get into kpop. I sing really good and my parents really want me to be in american idol in a couple of years, but the thing Is I like KPOP. I found allkpop is doing this think called sbs kpop star and I thought this is pretty cool and that since no JY or YG auditions have been coming up I probably should try out for this. But I have friends who says this HARDER because this is against other people and that Korea will be voting off people, and the thing is that I'm not Korean, I'm phillipino and Middle Eastern. So What do you think is easier or better? SBS kpop star? Or just wait for regular auditions? (Although I really don't know when is the next audition for any big company and I really don't wanna miss my chance!)

Yeah the regular auditions are a lot easier because this time its based on talent not exactly looks. You can immediately debut after this so yeah, you will have to be really talented to get that far :/ but i think there's a second place, which is being a trainee. So i'm not sure. And K-pop industries are usually looking for chinese, korean and taiwan ppl. But i recommend you to try out!! :D at least you are asian its alright lol.But you need have a really good, powerful voice that you think anyone would want! And to have powerful dancing skills. if not then, you should still try out and give it your best :] because you'll never know if you will get in to the next round or the finals! anyways good luck!! how did your parents let you audition for american idols? 0-0 i having some difficulty right now :/

All auditions are against other people, regardless of whether you know it or not.  Each person auditioning is compared to others who have auditioned, trainees who've passed and idols who've made it all the way through.  As far as I know, there is no rule that you cannot try SBS Kpop Star first and then attempt a regular audition later if you don't make it.  I hope this helps and good luck!

The SBS kpop star is harder because you won't win if you are only good in singing or dancing,you need to have lots of talents to win. Just do the regular one.
I'm Filipino too but I backed out because I just realized that I was too young and I'm only good in singing.

If you dont LOOK Asian, you have NO hope. Sorry. And regular auditions are A LOT easier. SM and JYP do auditions every week or day. I dont remember which.

EDIT: About Chocolate, they kinda do. Oh if you are Phillipino then you are fine (I think). You should join JYP  because they accept more non Koreans.

well......but definition of kpop is......korean singers are singing in korean....isn't it?
SBS audition maybe better than normal company's audition
