Why are pedophile Priests in the US not made to register under Megan's Law.?

I believe in what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong i.e. that no-one on this planet is above the law. So my question is. How come Priest that, are known convicted pedophiles aren’t made to register accordingly to the Megan’s Law? I can’t speak for other countries, as I am a U.S. citizen. But in the US all pedophiles are required under Megan’s Law to register but Priest, are not subject to this law. I find that a bit disturbing. A pedophile is just that, a pedophile. Instead the Vatican pays millions of dollars to the victim(s) and promotes the pedophile Priest to another post. I don’t see this Priest(s) picture posted in any neighborhoods like other pedophiles in the US. What makes them different from other pedophiles? I have no doubt(s) whatsoever, that Priest in the US are; for some reason exempt from this law. Why is that? I am sure there are people (even victims) who ask this same question. Can anyone give me an intelligent answer?

Nonsense. If a priest or anyone else is CONVICTED, they register. Your entire rant is wrong based on that very fact. What you are missing is the difference between someone that you THINK is a pedophile and someone who has been convicted in a court of law.

They are not exempt from the law. If the church just transfers them, then that means the police weren't called. The only way to require them to register under Megan's Law is if they are convicted in a court or law. Not by the church.

It's my understanding that the ones that have been convicted have to register just like all the others. But many of them haven't really been convicted in a court of law. Lots of the press about them has been a result of civil trials rather than criminal ones. Sex offenders that are known via civil trials aren't required to register, only the ones convicted.

The guy is right about the civil/criminal trials thing.

The feds should prosecute the catholic church under the RICO laws as a racketeer organization.
