They say exercise doesn't work unless your diet is perfect but how PERFECT does it have to be?

I know you have to eat healthy along with exercise to see results... but how PERFECT does your diet have to me? I eat healthy.. barley any processed foods...NEVER fast food... i do plyometrics and running... so i'm exercising about 4-5 times a week. I'm not fat or anything but i justi started eating healthier cuz i want to loose a couple pounds to look more toned. But they say exericse wont work unless your diet is perfect? I eat healthy like eggs or oatmeal for breakfast then snacks like yogurt and fruit and for lunch and dinner i try to eat veggies and get protein in.. but every now and then i treat myself or maybe might eat a cookie or somthing. will this effect my results?? i'm only 5'2 and 115 pounds.. haha i know i'm not fat but i wanted to tone up just a tad bit. and i'm scared now because i've been going to the gym 5 times this week... (i do running intervals, cardio, and plyometrics) and my diet has been pretty good.. but yesterday i had a bag of cookies and tootsie rolls =/ i did eat good throughout the day tho...?

You'll be just fine. Don't believe all the hype you hear surrounding different diets, plans, programs etc. If you burn more calories than you consume, YOU WILL lose weight. Sounds like you are in very good shape already, so all you probably need is some toning exercises.

One day of indulging may set you back a bit but have no worries. Even without a sound diet exercise can tone you as long as you're not over eating on things that are healthy or unhealthy, but try to stick to a healthy eating regiment. Personally? I think to deprive yourself of what you like to eat makes you want it even more. So indulge every now and then in moderation. Also, give your body a chance to rest in between workouts if you're not doing so already.

You're in a different situation than people who are overweight trying to lose weight..

You're already in shape and that makes it more difficult for you to lose the last few pounds.. the last few are the hardest.. And your diet looks fine.. except the bag of cookies.. but it wouldn't hurt to step up the intensity of your workouts.

just diet and exercise, everyone's body is different, when you exercise, lose and gain weight you learn how your body tics to what kind of food.

just remember you lose weight faster when you dont cheat with food, once your at the body weight you want you can cheat.

P.S, eating a box of cookies will **** up the whole weak. it takes 2-3 days for it to go threw your system. then you have to burn those cookies off with cardio.

Your diet doesn't have to be perfect, just make sure that you are getting the right amount of protein, carbs & fat (yes, your body also needs fat also).
