culpepper to 49ers good move?

So harbaugh is bringing in culpepper for a workout. Alex smith has obviously not improved and kapernick looks very inexperienced. Culpepper seems like he might not be a bad option for the west coast offense. What do you think??

They went out and got Edwards, and now they realized getting a good WR doesn't matter without a decent QB. This move is kind of out of desperation, but Culpepper was able to play good football back in the day with Randy Moss, so there is a chance he could have a resurgence with Edwards in there. BEsides having a player come in for a workout doesn't hurt anything. Huge upside small downside, might as well take the chance.

People who don't know the situation really shouldn't be giving you false information.

Culpepper is being looked at for their 3rd QB slot. It's not inconceivable that 3rd becomes 2nd becomes start if the other QB's don't get the job done, but it's for 3rd QB slot for now. Harbaugh does not want Jeremiah Masoli or McLeod Bethel-Thompson to serve as their #3 QB. We'll see if Culpepper is the guy they do sign. I read that Jeff Garcia even contacted them about the role. Also, team cuts later in the preseason could bring about another veteran QB option.

My opinion is that they should wait it out and sign a better QB option that gets released from another team. There's not many options out there. Baalke dropped the ball on this, imo. It's not hard to come to the conclusion that the team could use another veteran QB to compete.

Wasn't Daunte Culpepper one of the QB's to contribute to the Lions going 0-16

Bad idea what they should have done is gone out and sign some good O linemen. Because they let they're qbs get sacked to many times in the preseason. So I don't think getting a nother QB wil do anything unless it's Peyton manning just because he gas one of the best releases ever. But still I think Peyton in that team he will still have trouble cuz with a bad Oline I don't think any QB can make it

Bad. He's washed up. They should put Kapernick in for the remainder of the season so he can develop. The 49ers offense will be bad no matter what. might as well do something productive.

Kyle Boller has two good wheels. Culpepper has serious knee issues.

No. Harbaugh looks like he is making lots of rookie mistakes. Unless he plans to dump every game this year, he will not get Luck [although, he may do just that].

If his plan is to lose every game this year, I hope he told the owner.

It's not a terrible idea to have a veteran QB as a backup.

Desperation...he sees what's on the field and Billy Kilmer would look great behind center.

  • Too old, out of football for a couple of years, ect.
