First dance song & father-daughter dance song suggestions please!?

I am getting married September 17th and music is the only thing left to decide on. I need a father-daughter dance song and opinions on the song "I'll Be Seeing You" off of The Notebook as our first dance song. And might as well throw in more suggestions for the first dance :) Thanks!

Did you talk to your fiance about the first dance song? Maybe he has some ideas. The first dance song should be meaningful to both of you. And did you talk to your dad about the father-daughter song? I was surprised to find that my dad actually had a song in mind that he wanted to dance to! My advice is to talk to your dance partners and then see what happens. Sometimes you'll be surprised!

    Good luck!

We didn't want a sappy song to dance to- so chose an upbeat song for our Father-Daughter dance! We also decided not to have all the "traditional" dances at the beginning (because from experience, they tend to last SO long, dragging out, and all guests are ready to partake in dancing themselves!). So what we did was a kind of "snowball" dance. We had the band play "My Girl"- Temptations, and Dad and I started w/ a shag (which I basically learned quickly!). We danced quite a bit, while my Groom and his Mom came out and danced too. His Step-Father interrupted their dancing- and my Groom came over and cut in- so then my Father grabbed my mother. In the end, Bride/Groom, Mom and Dad, Grooms Parents were all dancing on the floor and having a great time! It was perfect, and all was accomplished in one fun-loving song. (oh- and my Groom and I did have a song dedicated to us later in the night- At Last, Etta James)
