The Bush Doctrine. I am hardly a fan of Ron Paul but he had no problem with that exact same question when Charlie Gibson asked him about it during the Republican debates. Sarah Palin is ignorant.

The Bush doctrine, except that over the course of his presidency, there were several iterations of what was called the Bush doctrine. It was never really well defined as any one of the iterations. The interviewer might have thought it one thing, but the term was not a common one.

She clearly never heard of the Bush Doctrine.

Some defend her saying there are several definitions of the Bush Doctrine.

My question - Then why didn't she just say that there are many definitions of the Bush Doctrine, run through a few and give her opinion? She didn't have a clue.

The Bush Doctrine: The stance on foreign policy which states that preemptive strikes on potential threats are necessary.

The Bush Doctrine. An irrational policy which was "created" to "justify" America attacking a sovereign nation which never did a single solitary thing to us.... Iraq.

How fvcked up is that? Creating a foreign policy which says we can attack you because of what we THINK you MIGHT do.

    Bush doctrine.

But it was a gotcha question since it has been defined many different ways.

Look it up and you will see at least 4 definitions.

It was the Bush Doctrine, which is that the USA will not wait to be attacked before we attack.

Instead, we will do what is necessary to prevent an attack on us, including attacking others, if the threat is real.
