Can I choose a different car?
I leased a new car 4 days ago. The finance manager at the dealership called me today stating that they were unable to find someone to finance the car under a lease (due to my past credit history) but they were able to find someone to finance the car as a purchase with the same monthly payments as the lease. The car is a nice car but it is not my first choice (not crazy about it). I agreed to go with this car because I figured that I was just going to lease it for 3 years then I'll trade it in for something else. If I knew that I would have to purchase it I would have gotten the car I really wanted. I have to go back to the dealership today or tomorrow to change the loan application from lease to purchase. Will I be able to change the car to the one I really want instead of the one I chose? I have the 2011 Toyota Yaris, I will really like a 2011 Toyota Corolla S.

Yes, you absolutely can change, and you should if you're not going to be happy with the car. Just realize that the person you talk to will probably try to talk you in to buying the Yaris, or try to say that you "have to" buy it or something like that. Refuse to sign anything of the sort! You have no obligation whatsoever to buy the Yaris. Tell them you want something else, and they can either be the ones to sell it to you, or you'll look somewhere else.

They can't do the lease they contracted for.
It's a whole new deal.
You re-negotiate from scratch.
You're not bound to anything.
You can even go somewhere else should you so choose.
