What Should I Do? Cosplay Prop Problem?
I have been unable to find an accurate looking wooden Kyoka Suigetsu but I'm going to several cosplay events (and fairly soon) as Sosuke Aizen from Bleach. I would just buy a real sword replica (Because those look really nice) but I'm going into New York City and I really don't want to be caught with a real weapon in the city for obvious reasons. However when I went as Momo Hinamori I bought a real sword and I went to both I-Con and Castle Point Anime Con without anyone even noticing, so maybe I could get away with it in the city too but I'm not sure. I could still buy a real sword but nail it shut in the sheath, so they can't say it's a weapon anymore but what if they don't check and I end up damaging the sword for no reason?
Any ideas?

I would try to make one myself out of wood and/or other materials. That way you can get it to look anyway you want without damaging some expensive real sword. Not to mention you get to feel proud of your self because you made your own prop!

Maybe one of them will inspire you/give you an idea on how to make your own sword!!!
*Note* I do not know what the sword you want looks like so none of these are of that sword, these are just methods some people used to make their own cosplay swords!
Oh, I have also seen umbrellas that look like Katanas! They look very realistic (if you get them in the right colour) but are made of plastic.

You could look up on http://www.cosplaymagic.com.bleach3.html/ for Momo's sword?

You can try to look for one on eBay or something. They might have that kind of stuff on there.
