If you're looking for confrontation, are you more likely to see it in places where it doesn't exist?

Kind of a confirmation bias type of thing? I see that a lot on Yahoo! Answers, particularly this section, so I figured I'd ask. I guess that's one of the main problems of the human brain, kind of the permanent semi-paranoid state.

We've got a lot of problems inherent to how we think and interact which makes me question the intelligence of such a design, although I guess it is effective if it was designed to keep us apart and mistrusting each other.

    People who look for confrontation are going to find it everywhere.

    Look at our defense department with the biggest forces in the world

    and we spend as much on arms as the nest ten nations combined.
