Why can't we all just love one another and live life to the fullest?

My perspective is that not everyone is content on that. It's like a drug, once someone has some power, they want more to get their fix. Same with money. That is why there is power struggles, etc. I know I have experienced this. I once wished for a decent place to live and a job, once I had it, I wanted more. I wished for a husband and child. I still dont have that, and maybe that is a good thing until I learn more about contentment.

That is a Pollyanna question, and a Pollyanna statement. I can tell by your question that you are young and inexperienced.

Fact is, the world works best when people are guided by their own self-interests. That's where creativity comes from, motivation to succeed, invention, progress, etc. We tried that "love one another" business in the 1960's with the Hippies, but found out it didn't work.

The second fact is that the world is filled, and has always been filled with nut cases; nut cases that will kill you as soon as look at you. Try Hitler, Stalin, Ho Che Min, Saddam Hussein, Paul Pots, or the Great General in North Korea.

I agree that we need to love everyone, but as Teddy Roosevelt said "We need to walk softly and carry a big stick."

You have really nice thoughts. To answer your question, people have hatred to each other, it all started with people not doing what they are suppose to do and thinking weird things. It is also beacuse people lost their control over theirselves. Thats basically all. And this are the hardest things to change so it will take thousands of years for us to change or even more but what we can do is focus on our life and improve ourselves and try to show others the right path.

I agree. It is very sad. Money, power, and control has taken over. All my family cares about is money and material things.

I, too want only what God has planned for me.

It's really difficult to me to love my neighbor if they own a yappy dog.

You want us to stop caring about money so you can take our money from us. You want us to love you in spite of your behavior because you want to be evil with us.

Because we are primates, and conflict is in our make-up.
