I know its an African American tradition, but I was wondering if anyone else eats black eyed peas too on New Years.

Unfortunately, I'm not because my mom waited until the last minute to shop for some and thier were absolutely none. We went to Marsh, Kroger, AND Walmart. All of it was gone. : (

This is a serious question. I don't understand both Democratic and Republican parties motives. More or less its the Republicans I have a hard time understanding the most. I'm really trying to imagine a world where schools, banks, public facilities, and etc would be privatize. Wouldn't that mean that we would all have to pay for everything? Also, I understand that a lot of you think that President Obama is the worst president in the history of this whole entire world. But can you give you a happy medium of where this country should be at if Republicans want are for capitalism and individualism and Democrats are for socialism and government funding? What's so bad about the Democratic view? I just don't even understand American politics anymore...especially from what I see on the tv.

That would be nice. But instead we want money, power, and control in this world. Sad, but true. All I want is the life that God has given me.

This a serious, and slightly unbiased question. I am neither Republican nor Democrat, so I guess I'm independent. I am also a keen college student, so it would be nice if you all have reasonable, sound answers! I just don't understand why so many people want to tear down the president instead of helping him and uplifting him. If we are "America the People" I don't see why "Defeating President Obama" it would one of the main goals of the Tea Party people(as listed one of their websites). Did Bush ever have this problem with the Tea Party? Or any other president for that matter? Or did the Tea Party come about as soon as the first African American (Dont forget Jim Crow's "one drop rule") president come into office? Something to really think about.....

Should we call by complexion other than color like black or white? Since no one is really black or white, but instead we are complexions of colors. Wait...I just realized that black and white aren't even colors on the light spectrum... Do you get my jist?

Now in no way what so ever am I trying to bash on Miley Cyrus because this girl can do whatever she wants to do....but one thing I dont get is why she thinks she's going to appeal all of a sudden to adult fans when she had Hannah Montana show targeted for little girls! As a matter of fact, my little neice told me the other day that she seen Miley Cyrus dancing on a pole or something crazy like that. I dont get whatever she's doing...she's saying that she's growning up...but my thing is that if you are growing up, you shouldnt have to tell your audience that. It's like she's reassuring herself...and she's going to end up growing up too fast and really being "unable to be tamed"
