You have bruised your chest Just like with other bruises it will take time to heal. You may also have bruised your ribs, not to mention the muscles between the ribs. You may be having muscle spasms from these muscles. These muscles also help with breathing, hence the tight feeling. If you are very worried or it gets worse or you can not get your breath see a doctor.

There is nothing a doctor can do for this other than prescribe pain killing drugs. Even a hospital could do nothing but send you home with drugs. However this does not mean that you should not go to your own doctor or indeed any emergency room, for it may well be that you need to have a chest x-ray to be done just to confirm broken or bruised ribs. You have obviously got bruised ribs down to the way you got the injury, I bet it must have winded you at the time too. But again all they do is give you pain killers and even let a broken rib heal on its own.
I feel you need more than pain killing meds bought over the counter, but a stronger drug only a doctor can prescribe for you, so do get to your doctor or a hospital emergency room as soon as you can.
I hope you feel a lot better soon.
