I have read all of the Ian Fleming books and seen most of the movies. (I have to admit that I didn't see some of the Roger Moore ones). I am a Bond purist, that is I go strictly by the books. Although David Craig is not what is described in the books (he's blond), he is a return to the book Bond and early Sean Connery Bond, in that he is lean and mean. He doesn't mind getting dirty and nasty. This is what has been missing from the series. Most of the Bonds have been so smooth, they;'re greasy. Too good to get their clothes dirty. Too reliant on gadgets. I like the return of the real Bond, dirty, mean and nasty.

the one missing is Never say Never with sean connery it was not an official james bond movie they got sued over it and settled out of court. it was released about the same time as octopusy with roger moore in 83.
