You can buy special biscuits and treats to help clean a cats teeth. My vet told me that if you cat is on wet pouch food, that if you mix in a tablespoon of cat food dry biscuits it will help remove the stuff that sticks to a cats teeth that makes it smell 'meaty' haha :)

It is unnecessary to clean a cat's teeth. The dry biscuits such as BREKKIES or GO-CAT, etc., will keep the teeth and gums healthy. You only need to worry about a cat's teeth if they become loose, or if the cat seems off its food, or the gums bleed.
Cats have the "meaty" smell to their breath - it is NORMAL. Don't get so close, if you don't like it!

Are you in the UK? Whiskers brand sells some biscuits called denta-bits. They are ridged to help clean teeth, my cat LOVES them :)

Buy a toothbrush for toddlers/babies, and put a dab of peanut butter on it. Most cats will allow you to 'brush' their teeth if they taste peanut butter. Once you do that, put a dab of toothpaste. Brush very lightly though

you can buy a special toothbrush and toothpaste for cats but good luck my cats hate me messing around with their mouths. Last time I was shopping I saw dental toys for cats, not sure if cats actually chew and play with them but this is one of the ones I saw. http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productI...
