Where in the Bible does it say pi is equal to three?
I've heard that a lot, but I have no idea what passage(s) say this.
Maybe it's just my crappy memory, but I don't remember much math in the Bible, even in the book of Numbers.

First Kings 7:23

There are a few explanations of why it is this way, which is wrong. The "interpretations vary", it was "approximate", it's "not exact", but most interesting as an excuse is that the Hebrews did not have a decimal system. I personally find that to be a lame excuse, because they did have words for "equal to", "greater than", "a little bit greater than 3, about 3 and 3/20 even". Greek, Hebrew, and Arabic mathematics were working quite well by this time. There was no need for this error.

"1 Kings 7:23
The Biblical reference is from 1 Kings 7:23. My Bible's translation is as follows:
1 Kings 7:23
And he made the molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in compass, and the height thereof was five cubits; and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.
The "sea" is a large metal bowl. The "round in compass" suggests a circle. The thirty cubits is the circumference. The ten cubits is the diameter. The formula we learned in school is Circumference = π times Diameter. Here, Circumference / Diameter = 30 / 10 = 3, which suggests the Bible says pi equals 3. "
BUT you should go and read the rest of this article. I don't know if this person is right or wrong but that is the verse that mentions it.

Nowhere does it specifically say that.
Even if can be implied from 1 Kings 7:23, the Bible is not intended as a precision science textbook.
Pi is indeed equal to 3 if you are not looking at it with decimal precision. We commonly refer to Pi as 3.1415, but that is merely a difference in precision of 4 decimal places.
Again proving the Bible is the inerrant word of God.
