Do you have any good book recommendations on media psychology or bias in the media?

I am looking for a popular-type read, not for psychologists or specialists. Also, not overtly politically biased.

Thank you!

My recommendation is this book - How Fantasy Becomes Reality : Seeing Through Media Influence by Karen E. Dill http://goo.gl/vluIb Using tools of social psychology, Dill examines how media producers provide eye-catching images and emotion-wringing scripts that stir our primal desires for food, sex, and social belonging. While this text presents a great deal of scientific research that will teach you about basic psychology, it is also a relaxing read for anyone interested in media influence from video games to television.

None comes to mind except David Icke's Books. The problem is David mixes the most outlandish speculations imaginable with his fairly reasonable analysis of current event news coverage. You can find his Books on Amazon and Ebay and his web site. If you can ignore his beliefs in Reptilian Shape-shifters controlling the news you will actually find many good insights by David into how Americans are manipulated by 'Big Media'.
