I'm Trying To Age Gracefully, Are You?

Fingers intertwined

sharing a glass of wine

toast! to all the years we've shared

kids are grown and gone

grandkids come along

where do all the years go?

I don't really know

we've weathered many a storm

our love has held strong

now, if we can only make it through

another year or two

without keeling over in

these old chairs!

Update:

Cassie, I love what you've written. I, too, dance around the house a lot. Even though it sounds like I'm ready to give up the ghost, I dance everyday to Usher, Pit Bull, Lady Gaga and whoever else rocks my world. I am a lover of music and have very eclectic taste. Grandkids keep us young, that's for sure. Keep on rockin' on!

Love your write! you've inspired me a tad too :O)))))

    Old hearts entertwined

relaxin' and sharing our evening wine

talkin' and laughin' 'bout our times

    so many long years ago.

    Kids are grown up now

    and well on their way

    retirement does grow on ya'

    we're learning how to play

and love our vacations by the sea

how long can we keep this up, 'cause we're

having such a lovely time of it, you and me.

Just hang on baby for the ride downhill, 'cause

growin' old with you is its own kind of thrill.

The years do go by very quickly and we have our grandchildren living with us. Am I trying to age gracefully Shirley? Afraid not - the children keep us young and I'm still prone now and then to dance round the house to Guns and Roses.Good for the figure - that's what I tell myself. A nice poem of enduring love and reflection you have penned here.

same factor we've primary to do for hundreds of years - consume suited and exercising. do no longer sweat it - in case you rejoice with daily and stay with out regrets, you will stick around somewhat longer and seem good jointly as doing it. and you will make the different old human beings jealous. ;) only attempt to rejoice and experience each thing that life aspects - even the undesirable stuff. in case you could giggle approximately it, you could recover from it. so some distance as weight loss plan, only consume a good sort of wholesome ingredients - the food pyramid actual contains all of the nutrients which you would be able to desire to stay properly, and in case you have further concerns consult with a dietitian or kin well being care expert to in basic terms remember to have become the nutrients that're suited for you. and don't overwork your self with the exercising; only artwork till your physique says it's time to give up. seek for suggestion from a actual therapist in case you have any injuries and/or pains that forestall you from understanding often in the previous beginning an exercising regime, and continually continually continually seek for suggestion from a physician in the previous changing your weight loss plan or activity point critically. additionally, start up with small variations(in weight loss plan AND exercising) till you study your limits. particularly, rejoice and make beneficial to no longer be apologetic with regard to the flaws you probably did no longer do - get obtainable and do them.

    Lucky girl you

    I refuse to keel

    even when I feel

    half disparaged and my

    carriage is bent

    so where they went

I do not know I only wish

    that heaven had sent

    a grand baby or two...

    other wise

    I will never

    grow up

good poem, Shirley - and I can only hope as I am and always have been extremely clumsy

    Lovely Shirley,

Wine analogy it seems to me, aging.

Not there yet at 22, but my bar code is imprinted

    my shelf life known

    my "use by date shown"

so I live it (life) as if there is no end.
