Is James Carville right when he says the White House should panic over the present situation?

"For God's sake, why are we still looking at the same political and economic advisers that got us into this mess? It's not working.

Furthermore, it's not going to work with the same team, the same strategy and the same excuses. I know economic analysts are smart -- some work 17-hour days. It's time to show them the exit. Wake up -- show us you are doing something."

I have thought Carville was an idiot since he surfaced with Bill Clinton in 1992. That said, if he is advocating panic over the insanity of the Obama Administration, I would listen to him seriously and be very worried.

After all, it takes a lunatic to identify a lunatic.

Carville penned a piece only a few weeks back that said that Obama was doing everything right and it was only the message that wasn't getting through. He had nothing but high praise for his advisors. Every time Carville speaks I feel sorry for the circus somewhere that's missing its freak.

No, panic never serves a useful purpose.

And while its easy to complain, I've yet to hear a new idea from any side, or any economist that could both pass the House and work.

    Panic?

    Never appropriate.

    Be concerned? Yes, of course.

Take action? Yes. Although I notice Carville's advise comes off more as "make a show of firing people to make it seem like you're doing something" than "there are better choices to fill these positions."
