How does the hospital keep records of what nurse worked on what shift in UK hospitals.
The nurses sign the nursing records. Are their signatures kept somewhere to tally this up with?
I'm interested in how the keep details of who actually worked the shift - rosters only tell you who is SUPPOSED to work the shift. The nurse might have called in sick etc.

The rosters would be worked out in advance and would be on computer.
