No experience, will I be able to change my car's starter?
My car was having trouble starting, would initially sound as if it was going to start but could not, but continued to sound as if it was trying to start. This may have worked after a few attempts
Now when i try to start my car there is one click and nothing. Everything else in my car works radio, all lights. Every so ofter my car will start seems like once a week. I had someone look at it and he checked the battery claiming it was good and hit my starter with a hammer which got it going again.
Does this sound like the starter ?
Would I be able to change the starter?

its definitely the starter
changing one is not hard 2 or 3 bolts max
and 2 wires 1 great big one usually attached with a small nut and a little control wire some just plug in to a harness or special connector
i recommend taking the wires off first if possible as to avoid strain on the wires if not just be careful dont hang on it or anything

Definitely sounds like starter. You can change it yourself as long as its easy to get to. Should be a couple of bolts and 2 wires. Look on youtube and you should find some videos of similar work. Good luck. Also, when you buy a new one take your old one back or they'll charge a core fee.

Sounds like the starter all right. It is a moderately easy DIY job, with access being the main challenge. Be sure to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery first!

Yes it is the starter I would go to a mechanic if you don't have exp it will make you want to torch your car as to starters tend to be in bad spots and hard to get to also you need 15 hands for some of them such as the one on my truck

yes its the starter, you dont have much room to work on the 6 cylinder honda's, if it was the 4 cylinder id say go for it, but sense you have limited room, no experience, and probably not the right tools, id say take it to a mechanic and have him install it.... in detroit the mechanic wouldn't take more than $45 labor changing it. good luck
