There are lots of holy books. How can you say that the Bible alone is God's Word?
People who ask this question usually have the idea that all beliefs are equally true and valid, and so there is no reason to regard any one "holy book" as authoritative. This enables them to make up their own "patchwork religion," picking and choosing elements from any number of religions according to personal preference. It is important to point out to them that this is no way to discover the truth about anything. Moreover, they must realize that the Bible cannot be taken in bits and pieces: it must be respected as a whole, or rejected altogether.
The reason for this is that the Bible itself claims to be the Word of God. The Old Testament prophets often use phrases such as, "Thus saith the Lord" and "The word of the Lord came to me" (Ezek. 24:15). In the New Testament, the Lord Jesus Christ said that the Old Testament writers, like David, spoke by the Holy Spirit (Mark 12:36). Christ's own teachings are recorded as being God's word (Luke 5:1). Later on, Peter insists that the apostles have the word of the prophets made more certain ... no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation ... men spoke from God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:20-21). He also says that Paul's writings are Scripture (2 Peter 3:15-16). The Bible affirms itself in totality to be the Word of God.
But does that mean that it is the only word of God to man? Couldn't those other "holy books" be God's word too? Those who make such suggestions often know little about the Bible and even less about the other "scriptures" they seek to support. They do not realize that the writings of the other religions deny central teachings of the Bible. The Bible says that there is only one God (Isa. 44:8), that Christ is the only Mediator between God and man (1 Tim. 2:5), and that salvation is the gift of God, not something to be earned by human effort (Eph. 2:8-9). How can all "holy books" be the word of God if they contradict each other? Does God contradict Himself?
Finally, in an honest comparison between the Bible, widely recognized as the greatest work of literature ever written, and the "holy books" of the world's religions, one finds that there is really no comparison. Professor M. Montiero Williams studied Eastern books for forty-two years and concluded: there is a gulf between [the Bible] and the so-called sacred books of the East which severs the one from the other utterly, hopelessly, and forever."

The error is in the very first claim made. There are not a lot of Holy Books. God decides what is Holy! The Bible is the only Holy book. All others are deemed Holy by those who mistakingly see themselves as holy and are not!
@ Revolutionary maniac - Why do you refer to someone as a "retard" for simply sharing the truth. The fact that you were aware of this truth does not qualify anyone that shares it with you as a retard. The truth is, you stand out as more of a retard for attacking the person who wrote the question, for illogical reasons!

The bible is viewed holy due to the fact it is God's phrase. There's a massive change among religions who've specific "gods", and people who worship the only and handiest real God. The Roman Catholic Church believes that the Pope is the vicar (or replacement) for Christ till he returns. This is towards what the bible teaches. There is just one Christ, and he hasn't but back to collect his believers on the rapture. The pass for illustration, is a reminder to me that Christ died for me, it is like an emblem of the resurrection. Even graphics of Christ are simply nearly some way for us to location a reputation with the face now we have certainly not noticeable, however it is not something to be worshiped in any respect. The bible is viewed holy due to the fact it is God's phrase, and it is what we use to are living our lives via and to inspire us while lifestyles will get very lonely and irritating. There are many "well" books in the market, however they do not include the phrase of God and for that reason are not "holy" books. The bible is, due to the fact God's phrase is in it.

I think this seems right.

The professor that you cite was already a born again christian, spending 42 years proving his belief. Not the most objective person around. And some of your arguments are circular, as is often the case with christians using the bible as the supreme mediator and truth in these matters. I think your question is quite well arged as it goes, but under the surface, there are glaring holes in your logic.

Just do this and have all do it as well:
Seek and find God. After you find God you will be able to read his book and understand it. Then by this understanding of his book you will know who is right. And depending on which book you start with it may be quick or may take time to do. But you will then know God and understand his book and words.
take care.
When one finds God they will understand his word and know who is right and which book is right. I encourage all to do this to make sure one is right. I did it so I know it works, do it and tell me what you believe after you find God.
bless you.
To the person out of this and seek God to find out. Simple as that, many make it too complicated.

Bravo! You are a smart retard~!
So your justification is from one religious book? That's it? The bible says it's the one true religion and it is? Yes, most other religions do say that they are the true one and that their god is the only true god, just like yours. So, I don't see your point.
