Another question for atheists?

Since scientists don't really know how life came to be and the origin of life is still unknown, should theists wait for the "evidence" that proves your position? If so, why, and how long should we wait?

And why do a lot of you answer questions WITH questions? They call it Yahoo ANSWERS for a reason. That makes theists think you're ducking and dodging the truth!

All science does is take the available information and interprets into the the most likely conclusion.

    This is all.

There is no way of knowing when someone is going to have a breakthrough or a moment of inspiration.

The reason that questions are used to answer questions is usually when the question asked is to general, or the person in question has not properly researched the facts they are establishing.

The Pope, Catholic Church, Church of England and mainstream churches all accept the big bang and evolution!

Lord Carey the former Archbishop of Canterbury put it rather well – “Creationism is the fruit of a fundamentalist approach to scripture, ignoring scholarship and critical learning, and confusing different understandings of truth”!

Nice that christians and atheists can agree and laugh together even if it is at fundie expense!

But behind the laughter is the despair at the fundamentalists striving so hard to destroy christianity by turning it from a religion to an ideology!

Surveys suggest that 29% of American christians are so extremist in their beliefs that they fall well outside of the accepted bounds of christianity!

So why not have the courage to tell us which sect you belong to so that GOOD christians can disassociate themselves from you!

We don't know exactly how life originated (abiogenesis), but we have a few theories that are scientifically promising. However, we can admit that currently, "We don't know."

You however, are so arrogant as to think your specific creation myth is true without any evidence; in fact, the account of Genesis is not only asinine, but physically impossible. For example, Yahweh creating light before he made stars.

If you honestly think your unproven (and impossible) desert scribblings hold any basis in truth compared to unproven, but scientifically plausible, hypotheses, then you are _highly_ delusional.

Even if we didn't know the origin of life, what reason is there to believe that a supernatural, anthropomorphic being caused it? There's no evidence for this whatsoever.

Simply making up an answer just to satisfy your ego doesn't actually solve anything.

Science is about discovery of fact. It's a theory because it can't be proven yet because of religious oppression of Scientific progress; otherwise we would know for sure. And there is tons of evidence to support this theory, which is why it is an official theory. Carbon dating, repeated experiments with conclusive results, etc.

Atheists are still waiting on theists' evidence that proves their position as well, so don't go complaining.

Christians have had the same book for 2000 years and haven't proven anything. At least scientists are making progress in answering difficult questions, and have published and revised millions of books and scientific journals.

Science is A LOT more specific about how life developed then Christians.

Just because scientists can't pinpoint the exact origin of life to your satisfaction does not mean that "God did it".
