Are people who deny HIV/AIDS common?
I watched a TV show featuring a woman and her doctor who deny the existence of AIDS and say that HIV is harmless. It made me curious (and a little scared)... Do many people actually believe this? Are those people from developed countries or developing countries or is there no distinction?

A lot of their episodes are based on real events/real people... Do you know it isn't common, or are you guessing? I had a discussion with a woman who denied that diabetes is real; that was incredibly aggravating.

The amount of people who deny HIV/Aids is alarmingly high. There are even some African governments who deny the existence or that HIV causes AIDS.

I am a former Medical Marijuana patient, and so I answer a lot of questions about drugs. About a year or two ago, there were news reports that the US sends AIDS drugs to Africa to fight AIDS, are stolen. Someone had found that if you smoke it, you will hallucinate.

People actually believe that yes. Because you don't really know you have either, AIDS/HIV have the symptoms of a common cold, so therefore nobody really thinks they have HIV until they get tested.

No, it isnt common, that kid's mom was just a whackadoo (like most people on the show...) who engraved her craziness into him too
