I used to think it would be a good idea to legalize it. It should be a personal choice, right? But then I met a woman who had worked as a prostitute for 12 years, and I learned a few things. I don't claim to know anything for sure since I haven't experienced it firsthand, but from what she told me, no woman enjoys being a prostitute. As much as they may act tough like it doesn't bother them, it really breaks them down emotionally, which is why so many of them turn to drugs and alcohol. Should that really be encouraged? Also, prostitutes are highly likely to be drugged, raped, and abused by either their customers or their pimps. So as much as people like to act like its just a clean safe business transaction, it almost never is. Whether it is legal or not has no effect on me personally because I'd never buy or sell sex, but I can't say I agree with something that puts fellow women at such high risk.

  • legal prostitution in Nevada has done extremely well- regulation would prevent the spread of stds and provide safety to prostitutes from physical harm and from street pimps. What people choose to do with their body is their own business and personally I see no difference between porn stars and prostitutes since the both get paid to have sex? I don't understand how one is legal and the other isn't.

Yes. Criminalizing prostitution is a bad idea for several reasons:

    1) It is ridiculous to criminalize a consensual adult transaction.

    2) Criminalizing prostitution makes the lives of sex workers more difficult and dangerous. A woman who resorts to sex work for financial reasons will not be any better off if she has an arrest on her record. She is not safer if she cannot go to the police for fear of arrest or deportation.

    3) Either you have the right to do with your body as you please, or you don't.

I am all in favor of decriminalizing prostitution.

    Hope that helps!

Prostitution IS legal in aspects of Nevada. i'm rather helpful it would not would desire to be provided as a level in the college gadget, nonetheless. maximum folk in contact with this marketplace rather a lot have the profession discovered from the get-flow. playstation : Everett? maximum rules, even right here in the uber-Christian united statesof A., are no longer based on the Bible. you comprehend, it incredibly is that total 'separation of church and state' element. you won't be in a position to make something legal purely via fact it incredibly is approved in the Bible (like slavery and murdering your guy or woman infants in the event that they sass you), or unlawful via fact it incredibly is condemned in the Bible (like homosexuality). .

I thought that it was legal in D.C., after all, don't our politicians prostitute themselves to big business?

But seriously, yes, it should be legalized. It could be taxed and regulated, with better healthcare for the sex workers. Prostitution has been called the oldest profession, and there will always be people willing to have sex for money, and people willing to pay to have sex.

Well; let's put it this way. Prostitution exists, we've tried to punish it, stamp it out, stop it, charge it- and nothing has really worked. Given that fact, I would rather these women practice their trade in legalized brothels where they have accessed to medical testing, screening, support and relative security.
